We had a great turnout for our September meeting and welcomed eight new members. Richard Waxman from Paws and Hearts shared how dogs make a difference in the lives of people in the valley who are living in senior centers or patients staying in hospitals. I love that we are seeing more cat parents and we plan to have more experts talking about cat health and behavior in the coming months. I'm looking forward to the October meeting to hear from the folks who work at Living Free Animal Sanctuary. If anyone is interested in visiting Living Free, respond to this post and let's make a plan.

These are some of the things we have done and continue to work on. > Purchased chip scanners for both guard gates > Assist members with finding cats and dogs available for adoption > Send out emails to our members and to assist in finding lost pets > Collect food and bedding for no-kill shelters and fosters > Advocate for pets and their owners by communicating special interests and needs to the HOA board. > Work with SCSH Emergency Preparedness Committee and local shelters to collect supplies for pets that may get loose during a catastrophic emergency, such as an earthquake.

Hello. My name is Susan Engel and I'm serving as secretary of the Pet Club this year. My husband and I have been living here at SCSH for one year this month. We adopted a cat named Miso and a dog named Junebug from our daughter. They are quite old, but bring a lot of joy to our lives. I'm looking forward to meeting more of you at the Pet Club meetings and here on the Pet Club forum.
